My first purchase on Amazon.com was a book I needed for school. Back then (before they took over the world) Amazon was just an online bookstore; Now they offer everything from groceries to small houses. As I sit here on the computer at 3am ordering things like speakers and outlet timers, it begs the question of how mom-and-pop shops like the Peddler (and our other awesome local stores) can compete with the huge billion-dollar-a-day corporations. In the simplest of answers, we can’t; if you call at 3am to order a lampshade, you’ll get our voicemail. However, the mega retailers can’t compete with us either. The Peddler offers a different form of shopping – friendly, helpful faces instead of AI robots to answer your questions, for a start. Our relaxed, fun store creates an environment of days gone by, where you can smell the fresh coffee in the morning, taste the old-fashioned candy and soda, hear the windchimes and musical toys, and touch the parts of history that remind you of simpler times. Also, we love what we do, so thanks for shopping locally and thinking of us whenever possible! – Joseph and the gals at the Country Peddler
